9:05PM - Sabbath, December 1st

This week we will be meeting at the Hagen's house, to give the kids a chance to be home early so they can be with their friends in the evening, and to give the Hagen's a break from driving. I am not sure if Don is going to make it home for the weekend, frieght get really slow at this time of the year and sometimes they can't find a load coming back to Wisconsin. 

We were thinking of going over to our friends place this weekend, Sandy and Steve Powell, they have a once a month bible study on the first Sabbath of the month, they are located up by Wisconsin Dells. We thought about going there, but since were not broadcasting last week, we decided we should stay home and support our on line audience. So we will be broadcasting from the Hagen's house on Sabbath. We will be starting to read from Gen 16 and go as far as we can. 

When we finish Genesis, we will be looking to read another book. We are taking suggestions. email us! or make a comment here. or sign in to the chat room and let us know what you would like us to discuss!!!  

11:35AM - Sabbath Services November 24, 2007

Since we are a small group, it doesn't take much for us to get scattered. Thanksgiving day was a really good day for us. Some of us got together with family as planned, and some of us got together with family unexpectedly, and they stayed for the weekend! What a wonderful thing! But, alas, we also had an unfortunate reaction to Thanksgiving, a 24 hour flu bug, that we really didn't want to pass on to others. So we have had to cancel services today, since one of the sound/cybercast guys is sick and the other wants to stay home and visit with his family. Another family traveled to visit their family and wont be here this week. I hope our other casual visitors will be visiting their families this week and don't make the long trip to meet with us today. 

It will be great to get together next week and see everyone.

3:49PM - Calendar for November

For Sabbath, November 10, we are doing our usual Friday night service, Nov 9, so no services will be broadcast on Saturday afternoon.  We will be having a guest speaker, Art  Walker, from Washington state. We will be starting about 8pm Central Standard Time. He will be using "Go to Meeting", a way to use PowerPoint and see what he is showing. There will be more information on this posted here or on the cybercast page.

We have started doing bible reading and discussion as a regular part of our services. We are reading Genesis and will be continuing the reading on Nov 17th at chapter 12.

We discussed several topics that we want to study in the near future at a date to be announced, probably after Thanksgiving.

1. The Sabbath, What does the Bible say you should and shouldn't do on the Sabbath? What is the day of preparation? Where in the Bible does it talk about it? What is servile work?  What does it mean in Mark 2:27?
2. What are the signs of the beginning of the Tribulation? Wars, economy, drought? Should we use resources other than the Bible? Can they be supported by the Bible? Suggest some books or resources on this topic!!
   

These Topics will take more than one Sabbath to discuss, so look for updates.

Steve will be speaking to us about the Ten Lost Tribes and next month about Israel in Prophesy. He will be speaking to us at 8pm Central Time. You can also join us in Hartford tonight. We will be having a potluck at 7pm. We are doing taco night.
Here is some biographical info from Steve's website and a description of his books on the Ten Lost Tribes. 

Steven M. Collins has authored five books documenting the migrations, kingdoms and locations of the biblical ten tribes of Israel after their exile from the Promised Land. He has also written many articles on a variety of biblical topics, prophecy related to the modern tribes of Israel and presented lectures to various audiences. This is the original book written by author/historian Steven M. Collins, exploding the myth that the ten tribes of Israel disappeared and can't be found! It reveals startling, but well-documented facts about their migrations, wars, and empires throughout history.
Many assume that the ten tribes of Israel "disappeared" or "died out" in ancient history. However, Hosea 1 prophesied that God would multiply their population after their expulsion from Palestine seven centuries before Christ. A century later, the prophet Jeremiah sent a message to the ten tribes, and Josephus, the famous Jewish historian, wrote that the ten tribes were too numerous to count in the 1st century A.D., and he even named their western border!

After the food (we plan to eat at 7pm), we will hear from Steven M. Collins. The Bible study starts at 8pm. If you can't join us in person, please consider joining us online. You won't be able to share in the tacos, but you can listen to the presentation and join in the discussion.
